Day 10–Mumbai (18th Dec)

Woke up early today, throat was not feeling to well but the pain killers helped.

Decided to go for a walk on the beach,  headed towards Versova beach. Lots of people out for morning walks, was also a good time to make a work related call. Walking past a fishing village, the number of people strolling had significantly reduced, but a lot of men were on the water line squatting, took me a few seconds to work out what was going on, this was the village toilet!! It was amazing and pathetic, this was Mumbai and this was still occurring. The entire beach was an obstacle-course, trying to avoid human feces! Isn’t Juhu supposed to be a tourist destination – the council needs to get this sorted, it would not take much to install a few public toilets here!

Back at the hotel, Neha, Pooja were still sleeping, time to wake them up, showered and down for breakfast. Two days in a row, we entered the breakfast place 5 minutes before the buffet was set to close. Quick bite, then out to more shopping.
It was again to Santa Cruz on SV Road, going to Basuree, Raas and others, I cannot remember the names.
Got lucky with the formal gowns for Neha, found a nice black one at Basuree.

Lots of shopping and it was around 3pm and had not had lunch yet. Decided to do Hakkassan – recommended by Doc & Tina (Damodars). We got there around 3:30pm, only 20 minutes before closing for lunch trade. Quick orders of Dim Sums and Kang Pao, I settled for soup – my throat/mouth was getting worse and was not able to eat anything spicy. The food here was brilliant – I was soo annoyed that I could not eat much, the girls were all raving about the food. After the mains, dessert had to be tried, went for the melting chocolate ball(not sure of the actual name) – which was a show in itself, seeing the ball of chocolate melt away to the warm liquid chocolate being poured over it and the inner ice cream being exposed. Just amazing, and sooooo yummm,

Post lunch, we took an Auto and decided to try out the stores we had seen on linking road. A few hit and miss, then ended up at a indo-western store “Soch”, that place seemed to have a few good varieties. Girls picked up a few Kurtis there. Soon after Jayesh and family were there – what a small world! Girls were super happy to meet their friends!

It was then back to the hotel, Neha and Pooja wanted to stay in and order room service, me and Nita decided to head out to Mahesh Luncheon for dinner.

We ordered the prawns and the Fish balti – both amazing dishes, but the spicy food was not working well for me Sad smile.

Got back to the hotel, Nita was adamant I call for a doctor and get my self checked. Rang a Doc, he was like, well it is a soar throat, is it ok I can in tomorrow morning, I was fine with that, did not want to me a big thing out of it.

That evening my throat got worse!
